NO "MIS-TERY" WHY WE HEART MISSONI

If you live in LA, you may have noticed that the Missoni boutique on Rodeo Drive mysteriously closed last month...less than a year after the star-studded party belated opening party where the family received a "Walk of Style" award.  The sudden closure of the boutique was shrouded in a bit of mystery and reports allude to a dispute with the landlord, but there's no mystery why Missoni endures since being founded in 1953.  We are all nuts for the Missoni knits.  They are as perennial in fashion as animal prints and one shoulder dresses.  Always in style.  A typical Missoni top is around $1000 these days (I am excluding the Missoni for Target variety).  The gathered cardigan below (there also is a coordinating pull over that I will add on Monday) is a lot more affordable and in a great blend of wool and cotton...so seasonless in weight.  Loving a vintage Missoni top with bleached out denim and an ultra thin tee or cami.  So much more elegant than a sweatshirts or a solid knit, the iconic Missoni pattern is always recognizable and often copied.  It's what you really need if you are summering in the 'Bu or Aspen.

The Rodeo Drive Missoni boutique may have shuttered, but at Decades we have a nice collection of vintage Missoni we plan to post in the next week to keep you covered.
