Phillip (not Lim)!

Every now and then a designer comes along with a rich history of culture, travel, and the right amount of Hollywood clout to set the fashion world on fire. This is exactly the story of the late Phillip Hulitar. From accompanying his mother to fashion shows in Paris as a young boy, to dressing Hollywood's elite, Mr. Hulitar definitely knew how to merge the intricacies of Haute Couture with the demands of Hollywood's powerhouses.

This muted-pink 1950s gown is one of Hulitar's signature creations just before his retirement in 1964. Made of satin and taffeta, everything about this piece tells us it's the perfect choice for a lovely summer black-tie event. Even better, the forgiving cut and pleated detail of this gown will force any insecurities about one's figure to fade once you slip it on. The petticoat (not pictured below) is a must-have for added volume and drama at any hot-ticketed summer gala. We also find the satin bows a nice addition; making this gown black-tie perfection for ages 15 and beyond!
