NANCY REAGAN WORE A LOT OF GALANOS

Yes, it's true. Mr. James Galanos was the Couturier of choice for First Lady Nancy Reagan. However, the forest crepe jersey dramatic dress below is certainly not in the style of Mrs. Reagan. Galanos may be famous for dressing the famous 1980s First Lady, but that doesn't mean his entire 80s canon of design was always about attire to wear for giving those dinner for ten, elderly men, from the UN, to quote Stephen Sondheim. This dress is not so much about serving, but more about being dessert. A dramatic one shoulder dress with bandeau that drapes on both sides of the hip with a peak-a-boo midsection and high slit, this evening dress is more Jane Fonda's Workout than White House feast, but it is a feast for the eyes. Mr. Galanos is of Greek descent and the influence of the Goddess is particularly evident in this sexy and statuesque design.
