NOT SO ANONYME AFTERALL!

UPDATED!

We would like to thank Decades blog-reader Kristen L for identifying this dress which is Valentino!

Original Description from 14 February 2009:
It's Valentine's Day! Everyone's favorite fabricated Hallmark holiday! Today's the perfect day to be the "Lady in Red." And Decades has the perfect dress, but we have no idea who designed it. We do know that the designer knows a thing or two about drama. Using the base of a classic red crepe column to showcase one's figure, a dramatic red taffeta over-skirt with adjustable train takes this gown from basic to ballistic. Throw in two huge bows (one at the waist and the other below your booty) and presto you have a gown that's ready for a ball. The gown was likely made in the 1970s, but the design is inspired by late 1950s Haute Couture styles. Please note that the train can be worn at full extension or the hidden eye and hook can be attached for a more narrow train, as the pictures below reference.

Valentino red column "Haute Couture"-style gown with dramatic taffeta adjustable train and two red bows, Fall 2005. Modern size 4, no label SOLD!
