YSL HAUTE COUTURE

We are sure the Decades blog readers are excited to see the De Young Museum in San Francisco's upcoming Yves Saint Laurent retrospective opening November 1st. Some of you may have already seen the acclaimed show in Montreal this past summer; and we know many of you are attending the opening night gala on October 30th. As a matter of fact, a few of you are wearing vintage Yves Saint Laurent gowns purchased at Decades. We are sure you will look gorgeous.

For those of you attending and who have not found your perfect vintage YSL frock, we think the Haute Couture velvet and deep teal satin gown below will stop traffic. Why, even if you are not attending the gala on the 30th, we still think this gown deserves to be in a stylish closet and ultimately on the red carpet during the black tie circuit this fall and winter. This Haute Couture gown features a very grand and wearable design of black velvet spaghetti straps with a fitted bodice and the addition of a dramatic deep jade silk satin bustle skirt. What's great about this gown is the black center silhouette is dramatic and has a great optical effect of making you look both long and lean. The velvet is trimmed with signature Saint Laurent black cord passementrie. The deep jade voluminous satin ensures that this gown leaps from basic black to gala at Versailles.

If you have a breathtaking piece of jewelry and want a gown to support the gems, but not distract from them, this is the gown for you, too.
