BILL BLASS IN BLACK AND WHITE

Sometimes you pine for a dress with absolutely no gimmicks. Purity of design becomes essential in a chaotic and over-accessorized world. If you are this type of super chic Decades shopper who wants to get back to basics, this dress oozes the simplicity of design you crave. Bill Blass direct from 1972 (the dress is dated and was sold at Bergdorf Goodman) is a black jersey halter attached to layers of off-white organza tiers. That's it. No bells and whistles. It's what we call "Great American Style." This is the type of gown that you could imagine Nan Kempner wore to a gala at the MET. Throw on a bangle or two, and some beautiful earrings, along with a Vivier or Louboutin evening sandals, and a bold clutch (maybe something antique or ethnic, we suggest) and you just might make the International Best Dressed List, too.
Bill Blass 1972 jersey and off-white layered organza gown. Marked size 8, modern 4 to 6. SOLD
